School Brief History
HISTORY AND FOUNDATION OF WACHIRAWIT SCHOOL
Wachirawit School was founded in 1997 (B.E. 2540) by Mr. Watchara Tantranont, a businessman with a long-standing interest in youth education in Chiang Mai for over 30 years. The school was established with the collaboration and support of academic professionals, as a private co-educational institution offering the national curriculum under the Ministry of Education.
The school was originally located at 168/1 Chang Klan Road, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province, on an area of 8 rai, 1 ngan, and 13 square wah. Mr. Watchara Tantranont served as the school licensee and director. In its first academic year, the school offered three grade levels: Grade 1 (Primary), Grade 7 (Lower Secondary), and Grade 10 (Upper Secondary), with a total of 15 classrooms and approximately 600 students.
In the academic year 2004 (B.E. 2547), the school expanded its secondary education and established a new secondary campus located at 93/111, Moo 5, Nong Pa Khrang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai, covering an area of 15 rai. This campus was named Wachirawit Secondary School, while the original campus continued to operate as Wachirawit Primary and Kindergarten School. The expansion aimed to enhance the efficiency of educational management and to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

In 2015 (B.E. 2558), Wachirawit Secondary School was renamed Wachirawit Chiang Mai School and began offering both primary and secondary education.
As of the academic year 2020 (B.E. 2563), Wachirawit Chiang Mai School offers educational programs from pre-kindergarten to upper secondary levels. The school emphasizes academic excellence along with computer studies, foreign languages, arts, music, sports, religion, culture, vocational skills, and technology. It also integrates co-curricular activities such as educational field trips, camps, and training programs outside the classroom.
Students are continually encouraged to develop their potential through various competitions and project presentations. Wachirawit School is considered a modern educational institution aligned with Thailand’s educational reform, offering a promising alternative for students and parents seeking a general education path that prepares learners for higher education and for life as rational, ethical, and socially responsible individuals.
